Safiya Sideek, a visual artist based in Colombo, captures the essence of her island home, Sri Lanka, in her art. With every stroke of her brush and every line on her canvas, she brings to life the natural beauty and harmony that surround her—lush foliage and the vast ocean that cradle the shores of her beloved homeland.

She completed her BArch from the Canadian University of Dubai in 2015.

When Safiya is not painting, she is spending time with her 6-year old son as well as developing her product line, Elements, a collection of sustainable travel art supplies, built from waste and biodegradable materials.
